The Safety of our People (and yours)

The health, safety and wellbeing of our people and of yours is at the heart of all we do. We believe that adopting best practice health and safety practices is critical to the success and sustainability of United Scanning Services as a business.

Because of this, United Scanning Services provides a proactive solution for your project to meet safety requirements. We work to eliminate any risk and conduct ourselves in a way that safety is enhanced. We work with an internally audited safety system, which includes a TRA (Task Risk Analysis) on each job. We use the best practices and the latest technology to structurally assess concrete, and always prioritize safety first.

We expect our people to prioritise safety and to contribute to developing a healthy and safe work environment and culture. We believe it is important to engage with clients who share our values, and we work with them to meet our health and safety expectations.

Occupational Health and Safety

United Scanning’s comprehensive Occupational Health and Safety Management system documents our process for internal audits and record keeping. In addition to complying with the current Occupational Safety & Health ACT 1984 and Occupational Safety & Health Regulations 1996, this guides our approach to behaving in the safest possible manner.

At the commencement of each project or undertaking we issue a JHA (Job Hazard Analysis) to our customer and any other stake holders that may be affected and encourage them to add any items they feel are applicable to their particular work site.

When we arrive on site we then proceed to itemise in a (SWMS) Safe Work Method Statement, which describes the methodology with which we plan to carry out the works. This helps us and our customers to run through the tasks and identify other ways we might be able to eliminate any risks, before, during and after the works are completed.

While the work is being undertaken we use a system called Take Three. Typically after a break from the task or if the work environment changes, we take three minutes to write down three items that are a hazard in our work area, which helps our team to remain focused on completing their tasks safely.

If you have not received our JHA before we arrive on site or would like more information on how we manage safety at United Scanning don’t hesitate to contact one of our team, who will be happy to help.
